About the Department

Semana Vidya Va Vanvikas Prashikshan Mandal’s Gramgeeta Mahavidyalaya, Chimur, established department of Botany in the year 2009. The department is dedicated to teach basics of plant sciences to advanced techniques in plant biotechnology.

The Department of Botany is committed to providing quality education and promoting scientific understanding of plants and their importance in human life and the environment. The department offers students knowledge of plant diversity, structure, growth, reproduction, ecology, and economic importance.

Through classroom teaching, practical sessions, field visits, and research activities, the department encourages students to develop scientific knowledge, practical skills, and environmental awareness. The department also promotes the conservation of plant biodiversity and highlights the role of plants in agriculture, medicine, and sustainable development.

The Department of Botany aims to prepare students for higher education and career opportunities in teaching, research, agriculture, biotechnology, environmental science, and other related fields.
