The institution was established on July 13, 2009, under the leadership of our inspiring chairman, the Honorable Mr. Vijay Namdevrao Wadettiwar, former Cabinet Minister and former opposition leader of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, currently MLA of bramhapuri constituency. He is the Founder President of the Semana Vidya Va Vanvikas Prashikshan Mandal, Gadchiroli, who aims to empower the region through accessible education and awareness among students from the community. The college is affiliated with Gondwana University, Gadchiroli. The college got the best principal award in 2023-24. The institution offers three undergraduate courses: B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com., as well as four postgraduate courses: M.Sc. in Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, and Microbiology.
The institution is located in the eastern part of Maharashtra, specifically in the Chandrapur district, which is well-known for various attractions such as Tadoba National Park (TATR), the temple of Lord Shri Hari Balaji, Hutatma Smarak, and Chimur Fort. The college was founded on principles inspired by Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj’s book “Gramgeeta” which emphasizes rural self-sufficiency, education, and empowerment. It serves as a beacon of hope for students from socio-economically disadvantaged villages in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. The college aims to bridge the educational gap between rural and urban areas, fostering an understanding of the transformative power of education. Our institution is dedicated to shaping responsible citizens through a holistic educational approach that includes academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular programs. We instill strong moral and patriotic values, promoting unity through the national anthem and the patriotic rashtravandana “Tan Man Dhan Se” written by Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj. The institution Gramgeeta Arts, Commerce and Science is situated in the semi-urban and socio-economically backward region of the Chandrapur district in Maharashtra state. The institution has been runing by Semana Vidya Va Vanvikas Prashikshan Mandal, Gadchiroli since 2009 when there was not a single institution of science faculty available in the nearby region.

Objectives
The institution is situated in the semi-urban and socio-economically backward region. Most of the students of this college come from nearby villages. Consequently they have socially, economically and academically backward background. So keeping in view its vision Honorable MLA Mr. Vijay Wadettiwar, founder President of Semana Vidya Va Vanvikas Prashikshan Mandal, Gadchiroli established this institute. The main object to start this institute at Taluka place in order to bridge the gap between semi urban and urban sector and also to create awareness among the students to meet the need of overall development through education.
